What do you do with a blog?

Well here I go, learning something new, this time it is about this activity called blogging. I have avoided doing this before because (1.) I had no idea where to start, (2.) thought what could I possibly post that would be of interest to anyone but myself. Then I looked at some of the excellent blogs that have been created by my friends from Simply Syndicated, and I must say that after viewing many of these I was inspired to give it a go myself. So a hearty thank you and appreciation to those all you brillant and talented bloggers. I have included links to many of the blogs that were mentioned in the Simply Syndicated Forums. I have not contacted anyone for permission to link to their blog so if you do not wish to have your link posted, please let me know and I shall remove it.

I also want to thank my son Jimmy who assisted me with the design and layout of my blog. He also told me I had better find something to rant about cuz that's what people do in blogs. He also advised me to add a "hangman" game or some such gadget to make it fun and interesting for people to visit. So now Chuck Norris Facts have a prominent place on the page. Hope you all find it amusing.

In these posts I plan to talk about things that are important to me, realizations that have come to me in my life as well as the everyday mysteries and conundrums that we all encounter. I will talk about my media interests such as Podcast shows, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, Tolkien's works, and perhaps Asimov and Grisham as well. I will also touch on such subjects as growing up gay in small town America or being raised with a strict religious upbringing.

So here I go, wish me luck. I hope I do not make a complete and utter fool of myself. To any who may be reading these words thanks for visiting, hope you can enjoy my ramblings.
